Home Boat Reviews San Juan 28

Windswept was found via the internet in Iowa and purchased.  I had been out to Marina Del Rey, CA and had spent a week sailing a San Juan 34 on the pacific.  After the week on the 34 I had to buy a San Juan.  These might be the best sailing boats I have ever been on hands down.

The 28 is also roomy with plenty of head room for me all the way forward into the head compartment.  This is impressive for a 28 foot boat that sails this well and still looks great.

Windswept was rigged out well with furling and all lines led aft.  She was hard to get rid of but eventually I did and moved to CA in search of bigger and better dreams.

I am happy to speak very frankly about sailing, living aboard, living in the Caribbean, leaving the US system, or any other topic you want to discuss. I have watched many people come and go from boating in the time I have been living aboard, both those living on smaller boats and those living on 110 foot mega yachts. It seems that many people come expecting tropical paradise and are shocked to find paradise is not always what you see in the pictures but includes some mosquitoes, huge bugs, poverty, stray dogs, crime, drugs, and many other problems left out of the tourist photos.
