45.2 Jeanneau - Reviewed 5/2004 asking price $230,000 LOA: 42 ft LWL:34.5ft Beam:13.25 ft Draft:7.9 ft Disp:18400 lbs Hull: GRP This boat was listed with a local broker. Upon the urging of the broker we decided to go look at this boat. I am not a fan of the Jeanneau line but still went for a look. The boat appears to me as a charter boat that has been built to ALMOST bluewater specifications. ALMOST is the key word. A few things would have to be upgraded and changed for cruising but indeed this would make a nice cruising hull, but she would be a little on the light displacement side of things for my taste. Bulkheads are glassed into the hull. The hull has no liner so access is easy all around. The hull has a collision bulkhead forward that makes into a storage space forward. The twin cabins aft layout that we looked at would have to change. The master forward is OK. The forward head has a very ingenious turning shower. The cockpit is huge, large enough for a block party. I am not sure the cockpit would be comfortable underway as there would be problems wedging in due to the size. I did not look at the systems. I do not feel this boat is an option for me to cruise on as I would not feel safe with the cockpit size or open rear transom. This design has been ruled out. |
