Hylas 47 - Reviewed 7/2004 asking price $225,000

LOA: 46..8 ft
LWL:37.9 ft
Beam:14.25 ft
Draft:6.0 ft
Disp:32000 lbs
Hull: GRP

This boat was listed with a broker in San Francisco.  Went back for a look at another boat.  This boat has the offset queen versus the centerline queen in the first Hylas 47 we looked at.

The same thoughts apply as in the first look at this model, see the first review.

Additional thoughts about the offset queen are very positive.  I went to this boat thinking that the centerline queen made the best sense for us.  After seeing this setup I actually think this implementation in the aft cabin is ideal.  The setting room the offset version provides is very nice.  Either layout would be a great possibility.

I am happy to speak very frankly about sailing, living aboard, living in the Caribbean, leaving the US system, or any other topic you want to discuss. I have watched many people come and go from boating in the time I have been living aboard, both those living on smaller boats and those living on 110 foot mega yachts. It seems that many people come expecting tropical paradise and are shocked to find paradise is not always what you see in the pictures but includes some mosquitoes, huge bugs, poverty, stray dogs, crime, drugs, and many other problems left out of the tourist photos.
