I have been living aboard Nadagato since 2005 full time.  The bulk of the time was spent in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, the Spanish Virgin Islands, and the British Virgin Islands.  I have been lucky enough to establish a business that I can operate and participate in from a distance and have started to explore further into the North Eastern Caribbean at this point.

In my working career I have worked for American Airlines, Jouve, and have started two companies.  As you can see my entire career has been in the aerospace industry and software world.  My current business deals with both.

My sailing resume includes passages from Trinidad to St. Martin, Bermuda to St. Martin, Bermuda to New York, and many shorter 1 to 2 day passages.  I have made 4 gulf stream crossings on two different boats, all fun with no major issues.  I have taught sailing in the past and have an ASA instructors certification up through Bare Boat Charter.

I am a graduate of The University of Kansas where there were nice enough to give me a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, for a small fee of course. I also have an Amateur Radio License, Private Pilots License and an Airframe & Powerplant License.

I am happy to speak very frankly about sailing, living aboard, living in the Caribbean, leaving the US system, or any other topic you want to discuss. I have watched many people come and go from boating in the time I have been living aboard, both those living on smaller boats and those living on 110 foot mega yachts. It seems that many people come expecting tropical paradise and are shocked to find paradise is not always what you see in the pictures but includes some mosquitoes, huge bugs, poverty, stray dogs, crime, drugs, and many other problems left out of the tourist photos.
