Fuel System

There are two fuel tanks located mid-ships under the cabin sole in the saloon. The total fuel capacity is around 180 gallons. There is one fuel filler located on the starboard side of the deck. There is also a filler located on the top of each tank to allow in saloon filling if desired. This is the only way to completely top each tank off due to the filling system plumbing. The fuel filler overflow is on the starboard transom.

The fuel is supplied and returned to and from the tanks through two brass fuel manifolds located under the cabin sole directly under the companionway. Each of these is correctly labeled.

The fuel flow order for the main engine is: tank selection manifold to dual racor fuel filters located on the forward engine room door to the electrical boost pump located near the racor filters to the engine mechanical boost pump located on the forward lower starboard side of the engine to a secondary filter at the top forward starboard engine location. Unused fuel is then returned to the tank selected by the return fuel manifold. This systems boost pump is operated via the secondary electrical panel.

Fuel flow for the generator is: tank selection manifold to electric boost pump to racor fuel filter in aft head engine room access to genset electric pump. The unused fuel is returned to the tank selected by the return fuel manifold. This genset has a built in electric pump which operates when the genset is cranked or running.

I am happy to speak very frankly about sailing, living aboard, living in the Caribbean, leaving the US system, or any other topic you want to discuss. I have watched many people come and go from boating in the time I have been living aboard, both those living on smaller boats and those living on 110 foot mega yachts. It seems that many people come expecting tropical paradise and are shocked to find paradise is not always what you see in the pictures but includes some mosquitoes, huge bugs, poverty, stray dogs, crime, drugs, and many other problems left out of the tourist photos.
